Foster carers should inform the insurance company providing the policy for their car that they are fostering, to ensure an appropriate level of cover. Foster carers are also advised to check their fostering services position regarding their requirements for car insurance. Some may be required to have business use included in the cover which some providers may charge extra for.

Remember that it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that any passenger (including any child) is securely and correctly seated.
